“Secret Pandemonium”

These three pieces were my best three finished pieces done during this exploration of cloisonné enameling. My secret pandemonium was the process. The selection of colors and the execution of the design was different  than the normal processes I use the when creating jewelry pieces. I found the level of concentration and the narrow margin of error to be gratifying yet  sometimes frustrating.

My conclusion was the spontaneity of this process has to be in the design. After that the steps and procedures need practice , colors need to be tested, and striving for perfection is of the utmost importance to achieve the best results. Each piece I did presented a new set of technical issues. I have several more ideas and pieces I want to make and this challenge definitely opened a door to a whole different skill set of jewelry making. My background is in metals and drawing. This medium gives you a way to merge the two.
