“ Bright Horizon “

This is a painted enamel wall hanging with a removal cat pin that is a piece of jewelry made to be worn.  The cat's tail is moveable giving a little swishing motion with your movement.  The Sunrise is made with pre enameled steel sheet and Sunshine Colors. The frame is a handmade cedar frame. The window frame inside the cedar frame is made from copper strips that were patinaed with LOS. The cat was sawed from copper sheet then enameled and painted with Sunshine Colors. The moveable cat's tail is made with hand stitched seed beads. The pin soldered to the back of the cat is stainless steel. The cat is held in place on the window sill with a magnet.

The kitty's name is Sheba in memory my sweet tabby who is no longer with us. She loved looking out the windows.

My challenge was to try leaded enamel paints to create a colorful sunrise.

What did I learn: The leaded paints didn’t mix the way I expected when I layered them. They reacted differently than Thompson’s 900 series and my regular non enamel watercolors.

This was so much fun to make and I look forward to seeing everyone's creative pieces!

Many thanks to everyone who is participating!"
