“ Enchanted Cosmos “

"Mimicry #12--Long Horned Beetle Brooch.

Materials: Fine and Argentium silver, 18k, 22k and 24k gold, opals, enamel

Techniques: Hand weaving, keum boo, embossing, enamel, fabrication, fusing, etching, patina

I interpreted Enchanted (allure, attract, captivate, charm, fascinate) Cosmos (nature) with my fascination of the insect world.

I learned a great deal more about using Photoshop and my Cricut cutter to make stencils for enameling over patterns in woven fine silver.

I also learned about what didn't work this time AND why. I am pleased with this redesigned piece utilizing what I could salvage from the larger enameled weaving. Problem solving with friends, I have devised solutions for these issues in the future. I am very grateful for their help."
