“Subterranean Garden”
The theme that I got for the challenge was “Subterranean Garden”. I knew I wanted to create a bangle bracelet, but wasn’t sure yet how to incorporate the theme. All I could think of was, I don’t know, mushrooms? Stalactites? Worms? I wrangled and hemmed and hawed about it for the whole first month of the challenge. Since I created this challenge, I needed to come up with something! So I did this quick sketch, which has nothing “Subterranean” about it, but I needed to get started on something, so I went with it. I’ve been exploring enamels that have designs on both the front and the back, so as I was fleshing out the line art for the front, I was thinking of what to do with the interior portion of the bracelet. And it came to me in a flash that that’s where my “Subterranean Garden” would live.
